OUR STAY AT HOTEL LORD BYRON- ROME, ITALY

We arrived in the middle of the night, as our flight to Rome from Mykonos had been severely delayed. Despite the hour, we were greeted by the hotel manager and as she insisted on taking our luggage herself (the bellhop was already gone for the night), we were given a quick tour of the hotel before being escorted to our suite. Chic, sophisticated and full of artistic detail, Hotel Lord Byron made it evident that we were back in Italy’s capitol.

Located just north of Villa Borghese and across from the Belgian Embassy, the location of this 1930’s villa is perfect; it is beautiful and quiet, though only a quick walk to some of Italy’s most famous attractions (The Spanish Steps and The Trevi Fountain, for instance). The common areas of the hotel exude art deco elegance and our suite boasted photos of various Hollywood Golden Age greats-including Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe.

One of the Small Luxury Hotels Of The World, this boutique accommodation has everything one would need, when looking for an Italian experience full of grandeur and excellence. The rooms are luxurious and the beds were heavenly. Everything about Hotel Lord Byron is of the finest quality, including gorgeous marbled bathrooms. We had a wonderful view looking out over Rome and anything that we needed from the hotel personnel was delivered right away.

Sapori dei Lord Byron, the hotel’s on-site restaurant and lounge, offers a creative menu for the well-refined palate as well as top-rated wines and interesting aperitivi. Breakfast at the hotel is not to be missed as the cappuccino we had, as well as the fresh-baked pastry, was out of this world.

Having been to Rome numerous times, Hotel Lord Byron is our new favorite place to stay in the city. It is a special hotel and a true five-star experience all around.
